Monteria village, a gentle lullaby heard,
Trampolines and swings, cows in herds,
Magic and puppets, back to our cultural roots;
Together 9th grade adventures in united troops. After much anticipation, the exuberant class 9 picnic is finally here! On the 13th of March, the students set out for Monteria
Village- Back to your roots in Khalapur full of vivacious energy. The students were welcomed by an energizing live band and a stilt walker dancing as they entered. Approaching an activity circle, the students were first introduced to various fun-filled displays which they could participate in, including pottery, a tailoring shop, a medical examiner, anganwadi and a massage center. The students and teachers relished in flavoured snow cones as they discovered a thrilling giant swing. The playground equipment was decorated with the cheering enthusiasm of the children and then, they balanced on the shaking bridge with all their might as they enjoyed the company of each other. The highly skilled staff of the village put up a jaw-dropping performance of tightrope stunts which left the students bewildered. As the day progressed, the tour guides led the students towards a range of cultural performances such as a puppet show and a magic show. Later, the calves and cows
greeted the kids heartily as they cooed while visiting the homely cowshed. The students, interested to learn about the recycling of waste, were enlightened with the knowledge of vermicomposting and the production of natural biogas. This was followed by a peaceful
tractor tour around the village. And then it was time for the much awaited rain dance which was thoroughly revelled in by the students as the music thumped loudly with their heartbeats. Stomachs filled with delicious food provided, smiles spread wide across their faces, the students had a wholesome journey through Monteria Village. As the horizon was stained orange with the rays of the setting sun, the students left for home with ineffable
memories that would last a lifetime.
